About REAL Talk Saskatchewan

STOPS to Violence has partnered with Sagesse, an Alberta-based leader in domestic violence prevention, to bring their Recognize, Empathize, Ask, Listen: REAL Talk program to communities across Saskatchewan. REAL Talk is an innovative program designed to empower individuals with the confidence and skills to have open, compassionate conversations about relationships, safety, and support.

Many of us want to help when we notice someone struggling—but we may not always know how. REAL Talk helps break down barriers, equipping everyday people with simple, effective tools to support those who may be experiencing harm in their relationships. You don’t have to be an expert to make a difference—you just need the willingness to listen and engage.

Who is REAL Talk for?

REAL Talk is designed for everyone—community members, friends, family, and professionals—who want to support individuals experiencing harm in their relationships. Whether you're new to these conversations or have years of experience, REAL Talk offers practical tools to engage with empathy and understanding.

For Professionals
While REAL Talk is not a Continuing Education (CE) credit program or a certification course, it serves as a valuable refresher on foundational principles of empathetic communication and support. Professionals in social work, healthcare, education, and related fields will find it reinforces essential skills and provides a resource they can recommend to clients seeking
additional support.

By participating in REAL Talk, professionals can reconnect with the core values of their practice and enhance their ability to guide clients toward safety and healing.

By equipping every day people with the skills to engage in supportive conversations, we create a ripple effect that strengthens entire communities. REAL Talk is more than a training, it's a movement to build a culture of empathy, understanding, and action.
